Wanda was born to Herbert and Lina (Swor) Olson of Nelson, MN. She graduated from Central High School in 1958.
She worked at Investors Diversified in Minneapolis from 1958 to 1960. She then moved back to Alexandria and worked at KCMT-TV from 1960 to 1963. She started work at Our Lady of Mercy in November 1963 which then merged with Douglas Country hospital. She officially retired in 2006, but returned back to work until 2025, totaling 62 years.
Orville and Wanda were united in marriage on February 18, 1961 at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria, Mn. They were blessed with two children. Pamela was born February 10, 1962 and Bruce was born November 17, 1966.
Wanda enjoyed spending time with her family, her grandchildren and great grandchildren were so important to her! Her house was always filled with joy and hospitality, all were welcome! Her hobbies included scrapbooking (which she did for all of her great grandchildren), making floral arrangements (she did many floral crafts shows with her friend), going to bingo and playing cards with her cherished “card ladies.” She made friends everywhere that she went, with her infectious laugh and great sense of humor.
She is survived by her children Pamela and Bruce. Four grandchildren; Katrina (Chris) Lehn, Kelsey (Joe) Washek, Krystal (Luke) Kraft and Madison Thun (Bryce Sward). Nine great grandchildren; Wyatt Washek, Matthew Lehn, Liam Kraft, Elizabeth Kraft, Xander Washek, Noah Washek, Nora Kraft, Jaxson Kraft, and Charlie Jo Kraft. Her three sisters; Doreen Lentz, Judy Alcott, and Bonnie Gibson, as well as many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville; parents, two brothers; DeLyle and Marlin, three sisters; Arlos, Gwen, and Marlou; son-in-law, Brian McKenna.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, 2:00 - 5:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Monday, December 1, 2025, 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church with Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Burial at Kinkead Cemetery.
