“It’s 12 o’clock, do you know where your children are?”
That was the question she asked every time. And yes, she always called between 12-12:02am.
Wanda “Fay” Underdown, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Fay is survived by her son, Toby (Brenda) Underdown; her grandsons, Cameron Underdown and Bailey Underdown; her brother, Gene Davis; and her cherished dogs. She took care of everyone around her and asked for little in return.
Fay was married to the love of her life, Robert Underdown, for 23 years, before his passing in 1992. She lived life on her own terms, had a quick wit, an infectious laugh, and was the original “Mama Bear”. Her love of life and her firecracker spirit is mirrored in her son and grandchildren. Fay never met a stranger, loved with all her being, and will be missed by everyone that was blessed to know her.
The family will not be holding a service; however, memorial contributions can be made to The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee (https://www.elephants.com/) because she hadn’t stopped talking about it since she learned of its existence, or as Fay would tell you, eat, drink, and spend time with those you love. (There is a direct link to the Elephant Sanctuary donation page listed below.)
