Wanda Lucille Wagner, age 83, cherished wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother passed away at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, KY on November 9, 2024.
She was born in Pulaski County on January 26, 1941, daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Allen and Luvirda Bullock Nolan. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Veroni Caroline Hubble.
Wanda retired from Fayette County Schools Department of Transportation after 32 years of service. She was also a hairdresser and graduated from Southland Cosmetology and Beauty School.
Wanda was a member of Meadowthorpe Baptist Church in Lexington, KY and loved her church family. She had several hobbies over the years and loved square dancing and was a member of the Wheeler Dealer Square Dance club for over 45 years. She enjoyed gardening, travel, all manners of crafts and sewing, and was an accomplished seamstress. She was a volunteer with Friendship International in Lexington, KY where among other classes she taught line dance for many years. Wanda was a member of the Citizen Police Academy in Lexington, KY.
Wanda is survived by her husband Bobby L. Wagner, daughters Carmileta Hubble (Waidner Carlsen), Melyn Hubble (Byron) Townsend, six grandchildren Cherry Rodgers, Lynn Rayome, Emily Hubble, Zachary Hubble, Tommy Rayome, and Joseph Rayome, four sisters Tommie Nolan, Ann (Beecher) Barron, Janie Spears, and Shirley (Perry) Prather, two brothers, Carl Wayne Allen (Mary) , and Jerry Allen, five great grand-children Patrick, Destiny, Dynasty, Bishop, and Zyler, and five great great-grandchildren Lonnie, Houston, Laylin, Memphis, and Visyn.
Family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 4-6 PM at Meadowthorpe Baptist Church 330 Larch Lane, Lexington, KY.
Family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home 5900 US 27, Science Hill, KY with Pastor Philip Jeffries and Pastor Matthew Hess officiating.
Burial service will take place at Singleton Cemetery following the funeral service.
Morris and Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
