Wanda Marie Williams was born on February 6, 1961, in Houston, Texas, to Mildred and Willie Jones. A proud graduate of Waltrip High School, Wanda gave her life to the Lord at an early age and remained a devoted and faithful member of her church and community throughout her life.
In 1997, Wanda was united in holy matrimony to Roland G. Williams, blending two families into one. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend—a true “Proverbs 31” woman whose life reflected love, faith, and service. Wanda had a radiant presence and would stand out in any room with her charm and beautiful smile. Her compassionate spirit and unwavering kindness touched countless lives, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Wanda’s nurturing heart was most evident in her home, where the aroma of her lovingly prepared meals brought family together and created cherished memories. Her culinary passion was a reflection of the care and warmth she poured into everything she did.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Prairie View A&M University on May 16, 1986. Wanda’s professional journey included roles at prestigious organizations such as Lockheed Martin, NASA, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and Verizon. She held top security clearances and led major projects throughout her career. Most recently, she served as an Engineering Test Lead at CAE in Arlington, Texas.
Wanda found joy in caring for others, always extending kindness and grace. Her selflessness, deep faith, and gentle strength inspired all who crossed her path.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Brown Jones, and her brother, Sylvester Jones. Wanda leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Roland G. Williams; her children: Teague"TC" Williams (Fayetta "Renee"), Sheldon Williams (Nicole), Roland Williams Jr. (Melissa),Brandon Williams (Janessa), and Kietta Melchior (Doug Sr.); her sister, Regina "Esther" Jones; a host of grandchildren, nieces, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close with love and gratitude.
