Wanda Renee Williams, 62, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on December 19, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories. Born in Prince Georges County Maryland, she was one of three children born to the late Sarah Alice Dodson-Williams and Arthur Williams, Sr.
Wanda Renee was a proud graduate of Meade Senior High School. She dedicated many years of service to her community, beginning her career with the Anne Arundel County Public School Board. Following her time with the school system, she worked at Heartlands Assisted Living and Rehabilitation in Severna Park, Maryland. Her commitment to service left a lasting impact on those she worked with and served.
In her personal life, Wanda Renee found joy in solving puzzles, shopping, listening to gospel music, watching Westerns, going on walks and talking to friends, family, neighbors and strangers alike. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her granddaughter, Shanya Cully. She treasured every moment during their numerous 1:1 car rides, walks, and time at home. Playing UNO with her brother Arthur and Shanya was a common pastime that often-sparked lively accusations of cheating. Wanda Renee delighted in the many conversations with her sister Cheryl, often sharing the wisdom, "If you listen you might understand something!" She also took great joy in teaching her daughter LaShawnda how to be a great mother, neighbor, and friend.
Nothing was more important to Wanda Renee than her family. She had deep faith in God and love for reading the Bible; her prayers would encourage those around her and were said to move mountains. One could often here her say “I don’t mean no harm “But if you ain’t my child, sister or brother, don’t ask me for nothing but prayer!”
Wanda Renee is remembered by a loving family, including her devoted daughter, Lashawnda Goodwine, granddaughter, Shanya Cully and her three siblings: Arthur Edward, Cheryl Lavonne and Chantel Melisa Williams. She is also survived by her aunt Terry Dodson, godchildren Nicole Franklin, Rhonda Thomas, Jaymar Strugis, Antwan Hawthorne, Iyanly Bennett and her special friend Larry Brown, along with numerous other relatives and friends. She joins her late parents, grandparents, aunts, Elizabeth M. Bruce and Elsie Rose Wilson and uncles, William "Lee" Dodson and George Williams, in eternal rest.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Wanda Renee’s beautiful life. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, January 9th, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services PA in Glen Burnie, MD. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 10th, at Payne Memorial AME Church, 7901 Brock Bridge Road, Jessup, MD 20794, beginning with a viewing at 11:00 AM, prior to the 11:30 AM service. Burial will follow at Maryland National Memorial Park, Laurel, MD.
