Waneva Karol Cummings

Waneva Karol (Fitch) Cummings - age 88 years 6 months 17 days of Jamesport, MO went home with Jesus Friday afternoon, November 14, 2025, at her home, north of Jamesport, surrounded by loving family. Waneva was born on April 28, 1937, the daughter of Harold and Della Pearl (Stith) Fitch in Jamesport, MO. She was a 1954 graduate of Jamesport High School and Gard Business College in St. Joe. Waneva married Lovell Cecil "Chub" Cummings on May 11th, 1955, in Jamesport. She attended Pilot Grove #1 Baptist Church and the Jamesport Baptist Church. Waneva and Chub owned C & W Grocery in Jamesport. She also worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Forest Bailey and Dr. Glenn Tucker. Waneva also worked as a nurse's aide at the Nursing Home in Gallatin. Faith and family were the pillars of her life. Being "nanny" was her favorite title. Waneva will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She leaves a legacy of love, grace and dedication. Waneva lived up to the meaning of her name - gift from God.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chub Cummings; son, Robert "Big Bob" Cummings of Jamesport, MO; 2 great-great grandchildren; siblings: Mary Eileen Fitch, Gerald Ray Fitch, Jerry Downey, and William Kenneth Fitch. She is survived by her children, Lynda Brewer (Steve) of Jamesport, MO, Teresa Parker (Bill) of Jamesport, MO, and Randy Cummings of the home; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren on the way; sisters, Coleen Downey of Evans, GA, Marilyn Waterbury (Bob) of Chillicothe, OH, and Sara Fitch of Chillicothe, MO; nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Pilot Grove #2 Cemetery in care of the funeral home. A service celebrating Waneva's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Jamesport Baptist Church in Jamesport. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, November 21st, 2025 at the Jamesport Baptist Church. Friends may call from 10 AM to 4 PM Friday at Stith Funeral Home in Jamesport.
