Warren Patrick Baker

Warren Patrick Baker, age 64, passed away December 2, 2025, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Born March 19, 1961, in Blytheville, Arkansas, Warren was known as a compassionate man with a charming wit who made everyone around him happier.

After receiving his PhD in religion, Dr Baker served as Professor of Religion at Faith Theological Seminary and then Senior Editor of AMG Publishers. His book The Complete Word Study Dictionary: Old Testament is viewed as a definitive Biblical reference, and students, teachers, and pastors from around the world sought his knowledge and advice.

Warren cherished time with family above all else. He is survived by sons, Joseph and Timothy of Chattanooga, and Benjamin of Clarksville, TN; mother, Willa, of Knoxville, TN, and father, Paul (Vicky) of Woodbridge, VA; sister, Jewell (Matt) of Fairfax, VA; brother, William (Gillian) of Hickory, NC; and very special grandson, Wyatt, of Chattanooga.

Warren leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and hard work – values he lived by every day and quietly instilled in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be at noon, followed by a service at 1:00pm, on Saturday, December 20, at First Presbyterian Church, 554 McCallie Ave, Chattanooga.
