Warren CLAY

Warren Clay, 74, of Warren, OH departed this life Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 12:05 a.m. at the Hospice House, following complications from an extended illness.

He was born September 8, 1951 in Columbia, SC, the son of Willie Clay and Sadie Hagler (Willie Roscoe) Dowell.

Warren was employed with Republic Steel Corporation for 15 years as a Press Operator, before retiring. He was a 1969 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School and from Kent State University, with an Associate's Degree in Mechanics.

He was a member of the St. James Church of God in Christ, where he was a faithful giver and belonged to the Steel Workers Local Union. He enjoyed working on cars, playing and watching sports, fishing and was an avid Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers and Indians fan.

He married Sylvia Delan Jenkins Clay September 12, 1975, she died August 15, 2000.

He leaves to mourn three sons, Trenell Clay of Houston, TX, Warren Lamont Clay and Elder Cardell (Kia) Clay both of Warren; three brothers, Willie Stanley Clay and Michael Clay both of Warren and Bryant Jeffrey Clay of Pittsburgh, PA; one sister, Mrs. Rosalyn Dowell (Christopher) Kuklock of Killeen, TX; ten grandchildren; one niece and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Ms. Kimyata Evans; one brother, Larry Clay and two grandchildren, Rakeem Evans and Jahleel Clay.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 17 at 12:00 p.m. at St. James Church of God in Christ, with Calling Hours from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
