CUMBERLAND

Warren "Jay" E. Fawcett Jr., 61, of Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Miriam Hospital in Providence. He was the devoted husband of Rebecca J. Federici.

Born in Cranston, Jay was the son of Warren E. Fawcett Sr. of Coventry and Elaine Catherine Vella Fawcett of South Carolina. He made his home in Cumberland for the past 25 years, where he built a life filled with love, laughter, and a tight circle of family and friends.

Jay worked for the Fogarty Center of North Providence, where his kindness, humor, and easygoing nature made a lasting impression on all who knew him.

A man with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Jay had countless interests that reflected his fun-loving spirit. He was an avid fantasy football player and a loyal, lifelong fan of the Bruins and Patriots. He loved softball and golf, and he was a true Marvel enthusiast-especially anything Captain America. His soundtrack was pure rock music, and he could quote entire episodes of The Office, SpongeBob SquarePants, and the original Looney Tunes with perfect timing that always brought a smile to those around him.

Jay had a deep love for animals, especially his dogs-Yoshi, Chica, Chico, and Luna. He cared for all creatures, often saying, "even the squirrels need to eat," a simple phrase that captured his gentle and generous heart.

In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Jay is survived by his three children, Michaelangelo Federici and his spouse Rebecca Blanchard, Zachary Fawcett, and Kylie Federici-Fawcett, all of Cumberland; his siblings, Lisa Fawcett and Tracy Fawcett, both of South Carolina, and Heidi Jacques and her husband David of Coventry; and his cherished granddaughter, Everly Jean Federici. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends who will forever treasure his humor, loyalty, and love.

In accordance with Jay's wishes, services will be private.

Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Hotel for Homeless Dogs, Berkeley Oval, 44 Martin St., Cumberland, RI 02864.
