Warren Starr Obituary
ROTTERDAM - Warren M. Starr, 81, of Rotterdam passed away on Friday November 1, 2024, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. He was born in Schenectady, the son of the late Myron and Beatrice (Swatling) Starr.
He proudly served his country in the Air Force. Warren was employed for Niagara Mohawk as an Underground Electrical Mechanic for 34 years.
Warren was a member of the Rotterdam United Methodist Church. Prior to that, he was a life member of the former Fishers United Methodist Church.
In his spare time, Warren was active in the Rotterdam Elks for 38 years and the American Legion for 20 years.
Warren is survived by his loving wife, Scherry (Dona) Starr; his five children, Sherri Porter (Ernest), David Starr, Gary Starr, Randy Starr (Shaunna) and Todd Starr; as well as eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Warren will be on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 9 a.m., at Rotterdam United Methodist Church, 1915 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Calling hours will be Monday evening, 6-8 p.m. at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady.
Interment with military honors will be at the Saratoga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Warren's memory to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
