Warren D. Waterman

Warren Waterman passed away at the hospital on March 27, 2024 at the age of 66. He was born on February 3, 1958. Warren was a lifelong resident of the City of Taylor, Michigan, attending Taylor Center Elementary School as a young boy, then West Jr. High School and graduated from Kennedy High School in 1976. After graduating from high school, Warren received his undergraduate degree from Eastern Michigan University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami. He gained a strong work ethic from his loving mother and his father who was a World War II Pilot. Warren was an attorney and served as a Magistrate for the 23rd Judicial Court in Taylor, Michigan. He dedicated his life to community service because he always had a desire to make his hometown a better place to live. Warren served on the D.E.A. in Florida and with the Coast Guard and worked for the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service at the Miami International Airport before moving back home to Taylor after his college years. Warren's prior public office and community involvement included Board of Directors for the Taylor Public School Foundation for Educational Excellence, Board of Directors for the Taylor Historical Society, Taylor Auxiliary Police Officer, Chairman for the Fire and Police Civil Service Commission, Chairman for the local development finance authority, Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals Citizen Council, Downtown Development Authority and Wayne County Sherriff Department Reserve Commander. Warren loved law enforcement and dedicated his life to it and he loved collecting law enforcement artifacts as well as sports memorabilia. Warren was loyal to his friendships and he cherished having friends and friendships that he could count on. Warren will be missed by those who knew him and he will be missed by those he served throughout the community. Warren is survived by one sister and preceded in death by his mother and father.
