Wavey Huntsinger (nee Wavey Sadie Belle Saunders) Of Apple Valley, Calf.
Born in Springdale, Newfoundland on Jan. 8th 1935, died unexpectedly on Sept. 15th 2023. She moved to St. Johns to find a job and met Donald Huntsinger, whom she was married to for over 66 years, in Newfoundland when Don was stationed there while in the Air Force. They married and after Don left the service settled in Taylor, Mi. where they lived and raised five children. After Don retired, they moved to Gladwin, Mi. for several years and finally moved to Apple Valley, Calf. where they lived with her daughter Sharon and husband Dan for the remainder of their years.
Survivors are children Del Huntsinger (Judy) of Cary, NC., Sharon DeGriselles (Dan) of Apple Valley, Calf., Donna Butler (Kenneth) of Plymouth, Mi., and Keith Huntsinger of McCleansville, NC., and one brother Ray Saunders of St. Johns, Newfoundland. Wavey is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Huntsinger on Dec. 30th 2018, and her oldest daughter, Loretta in 1993, her parents Chesley Saunders and Blanche Saunders ( nee Miller), and four brothers and four sisters.
Services will be held at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home at 30895 W Huron River Dr., Flat Rock, Mi., on September 23rd 2023. Visitation will begin at 12pm and end at 2pm. Services and burial will immediately follow the visitation.
