Death Notice

Wayne Andrews

1942 - 2023

Wayne G. Andrews died peacefully at his home in Laurel, MT, on October 25, 2023. He was born October 10, 1942, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Richard and Yvette Andrews. He began his lifelong journey as a truck driver, following in his father's footsteps as soon as he was able to get behind the wheel. He pursued his profession with unwavering dedication and professionalism. It was his dream to own his own truck and drive for himself. He achieved this milestone prior to his career-ending stroke in 2009.
Wayne met Renee Adams at the Calgary Stampede after his dad set him up on a blind date. The moment they met marked the beginning of a love story that spanned over five decades. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2018. Wayne and Renee had two daughters, Kristina and Rhea, who he loved with all his heart. He took them on many trucking adventures during their summer vacations, even finding time to sneak in some time to hit amusement parks along the way. While Wayne loved his daughters, he was thrilled to gain his sons-in-law and grandsons as he was finally no longer outnumbered!
Wayne was not only known for his skill behind the wheel but for his knack for humor. He was an avid joke teller, bringing laughter and joy to those fortunate enough to know him. His outgoing and friendly nature made him a beloved friend to many. He was a voracious reader and would read anything he could get his hands on.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Cameron, Gary, Cheryl, and Rick, and his mother-in-law, Yvonne Barnes. He is survived by his wife, Renee, and his two daughters, Kristina (Matthew) Pierson and Rhea (James) Wingenbach, and his two beloved grandsons, Jakob and Nikolas. He is also survived by siblings Patricia (LaVern) Willoughby, Ginny Andrews, Colin (Sandra) Andrews, father-in-law Kenneth Adams, and numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
