Wayne Harold Bensema, age 85, of Lavonia, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022, at his home.
Born June 13, 1937, In Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Harold and Geraldine Bensema. He was a retired truck driver, having owned and operated his own transportation business. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife: Leona Cochran Bensema; children: Sandy & Jim Sindler, Steve & Donna Bensema, Sue & Lou Karr, Scott & Amy Bensema, and Tammy Seenburg; sister & brother-in-law: Doris & Reynold Bankemp; and seven grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by children: Sharon Kropp and Stanley Irvine.
A private burial will be held Wednesday at Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will plan a memorial service at a later date.
