It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Wayne MacLaren Burleson a beloved husband, father, and friend, who left this world on April 27th 2025 at the age of 71. Wayne was a man of great character, admired by all who knew him for his kindness, integrity, and unwavering support of his family and friends.
Born on January 9th in Middletown, CT to Jan and the late Lester Burleson. Wayne lived a life rich in love and purpose. He dedicated himself to his family & career in custom home building where he was known for his exceptional craftsmanship and work ethic. Wayne had a passion for wood crafts seen in his "burly" wood bowls, charcuterie boards and other custom creations.
Wayne was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Kim, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, love, accountability and countless cherished memories. As a father, he took immense pride in his children, Jessica and Justin and was deeply committed to their growth and happiness. He was their greatest supporter, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams and instilling in them the values of compassion, resilience and a strong work ethic.
In addition to his family, Wayne had a wide circle of friends and a vibrant community. He was known for his humor, generosity, and ability to make everyone feel seen and welcome. Whether through his involvement in coaching or cheering his children and grandchildren on or simply in everyday interactions, he left a lasting impact on the lives of many.
He is survived by his wife Kim; his children, Jessica Reed of North Carolina and her spouse Scott along with their children Zachary (17) and Kathryn (14) his son Justin Burleson of California and his wife Johanna along with their children George (10) and Lola (7).
A celebration of Wayne's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to Dartmouth Cancer Center in his memory.

Jan and family, I am so sorry for your loss of Wayne. I only knew him for a bit in 1970, but have always had a sincere respect for him and the Burleson family. Sending love, Scott.
