Wayne Patrick Dawes
New Ellenton, SC-- A graveside service for Mr. Wayne Patrick Dawes will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Southlawn Cemetery with Pastor Edgar N. Foster, Sr., and Pastor David L. Holdman officiating. Mr. Wayne Patrick Dawes, age 81, went to his heavenly home on October 2, 2024 at his residence. He was the son of the late Mr. Leon Francis Dawes and the late Mrs. Velda Maude Christ Dawes. He was the loving husband to his wife of many years Mrs. Linda Campbell Dawes. Mr. Dawes was a faithful member of Grace Covenant Church of God, New Ellenton. He was an active deacon, elder, and a Sunday school attendant. He was also a superintendent at Church of the Nazarene and Faith Tabernacle Church in Williamsport, PA. He was involved with the “Wells of Loving Hope” radio station in Williamsport, PA at Faith Tabernacle. He loved his hometown, but he especially enjoyed walking and driving around downtown Aiken. Mr. Dawes enjoyed home improvement and loved working on his house; he also enjoyed the outdoors, doing yard work, and mowing the lawn. He liked to play the guitar and sing. He was a true patriot, doing his due diligence in voting. He was a loving father and husband, and was very protective and giving. Most importantly, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reading and quoting his Bible. Mr. Dawes will be missed greatly by all of his family and friends. Survivors include: one son, Jerrid (Becky) Mitchelle Dawes, New Ellenton; two daughters, Tanga (Brian) Marie Ray, Sheridan, WY and Tammy (Daniel) Elaine Funk, New Ellenton; two sisters, Ina Rae Kyle, FL and Linda Phillips, PA; two grandchildren Jesse Funk and Amanda (Matthew) Reed; and one great grandchild Arlo James Reed, to be born Tuesday October 8, 2024. He was predeceased by one sister Olivia Dawes. In lieu of flowers family asks that donations be made to Grace Covenant Church of God, P.O. Box 28, New Ellenton, SC 29809.
