Wayne K. DONALDSON

Wayne K. Donaldson, 66, of Youngstown, OH departed this life Friday, February 27, 2026 at 7:13 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Main Campus, following complications from an extended illness.

He was born September 7, 1959 in Youngstown, OH, the son of James and Jeanette W. Donaldson Jr.

Wayne was employed with General Motors BOC Lordstown for 23 years as a Fork Lift Driver, before retiring. He was a 1977 graduate of North High School.

He was a member of the Third Baptist Church, where he served on the Usher Board. He was known for playing the guitar and key boards and was a member of a couple of bands. He enjoyed going to drag races, drawing, cooking and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force as an Aircraft Management Systems Specialist, from 1977-1981, receiving several honors including completing the Weapons Mechanic Course and NCO Orientation.

He married Charlie Jackson Donaldson November 2, 1990.

Besides his wife of Youngstown, he leaves to mourn two sons, Wayne B. Donaldson and James P. Donaldson both of Youngstown; one daughter, Ms. Shannon Ziesel of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Ms. Jerrine L. King of Youngstown; one grandson, Abram Ziesel of Atlanta, GA and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Third Baptist Church, with Calling Hours from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Belmont Park Cemetery.

Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Youngstown Funeral Home.
