Wayne Lewis Farmer of South Boston, passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 80. He was born in Halifax County on September 21, 1945 to Henry Judson Farmer and Minnie Lewis Conner Farmer. Wayne's life was also marked by a beautiful 50-year marriage to Ginger Clienhans Farmer, who survives.
After serving his country honorably as a member of the United States Army, Wayne continued his service to the community through his work. For many years, he was a respected lab tech/operator at Bohler-Uddeholm, where he worked with diligence and integrity, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Known for his genuine love and devotion to his family, Wayne spent much of his treasured time babysitting his grandchildren, creating unforgettable bonds and instilling in them the values he held dear. Whether it was via storytelling or shared adventures, Wayne deeply cherished each moment with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Ginger; children, Cindy Gosney Fisher (Jason), Amy Farmer Fears (Kenny), & David Wayne Farmer; grandchildren, Chance Alexander Farmer, Kenlee Lynn Farmer, Libby Fisher Epps (Kyle), Malory Lea Fisher (finace, Isaac Clark), Kenneth Lee Fears, III & Miranda Nicole Fears; great grandchild, Julia Lynn Hemann; niece, Brooks Pruitt and Nephew, Brian Clienhans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Garland Farmer; daughter, Tammy Lynn Seate; grandson, Thomas Seate, IV; and brother-in-law, Mervyn Clienhans.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sean McGuire officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1 PM until 3 PM on Sunday, February 8th at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and other times the home of Cindy and Jason Fisher.
