Wayne Hoover Obituary
Wayne was born January 1, 1933, in Woodstock, VA, the son of the late Joseph Granville and Vergie May Stoneburner Hoover. Wayne was active in Lighthouse Full Gospel Church. He was a Veteran, having served in The United States Marine Corp for three years during the Korean War. In 1956, he went to work at National Airport as a Commercial Aircraft Re-Fueler. He served the I.A.M and AW as a shop steward, committee member, delegate, negotiator, and officer. He retired in 1995 after 38 years of service. Wayne was a member of the American Legion post 77 for 40 years, as well as the Strasburg Moose Lodge #403 as an officer. Wayne married Peggy Easton in 1981. She preceded him in death December 15, 2016.
He is survived by three sons, Wayne Jr. (Chuck), Kevin Hoover both of Middletown, VA, Hank Hoover and wife Kim Hoover of Woodstock, VA; one daughter, Sheila Hoover of Woodstock; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dean Hoover and Dwight Hoover both of Woodstock; one sister, Elaine Mowery of Woodstock; and the mother of his children, Rebecca Ann "Becky" Hoover.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 31, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Lighthouse Full Gospel Church in Stephens City. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Paul Markee officiating.

Wayne was a southern gentleman thru and thru.always had a smile on his face and could always put one own yours.i am so thankful to have known him and patrick and myself considered him family .He will be missed .Todays friends are tomorrow family RIP my faithful friend a job well done
