Rotterdam- Wayne P. Hopper, 84, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born September 18, 1940 to the late Harold and Irene Hopper in Suffern, NY. Wayne attended Clarkstown North High School. He and his wife Donna, of 45 years, lived in Cornwall, NY for 35 years and recently moved to Rotterdam, NY to be closer to their son and grandchildren. Wayne began his career as a mechanic in his own shop before opening a Sunoco gas station and Convenience store which he ran for over 40 years. Wayne was Elvis Presley’s biggest fan. He also enjoyed watching the NY Giants and NASCAR. He loved vacations to Disney World and trips to the beach with his family. The highlight of his days was watching his grandson play baseball and basketball and his granddaughter dancing.
He is predeceased by his daughter Karen.
He is survived by his wife Donna, his son Jesse (Jessica) of Rotterdam. Beloved, grandchildren, Liam and Madelyn. He is also survived by several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nephews and a niece.
His family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to the staff at St. Peter’s Hospice Group for their care of Wayne.
