Wayne Ithier Obituary
Wayne Lawrence Ithier, age 75, of Fort Wayne, passed away November 18, 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Mr. Ithier was born in New York, New York on May 3, 1948 to the late Joaquin "Jack" Ithier and Anastasia (Lampros) Ithier. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a four-time Purple Heart recipient. Wayne was a construction contractor for many years.
Survivors include:
Companion and life partner, Tammy Maness of Fort Wayne.
Daughter, Savannah Ithier of Long Island, New York.
Four grandchildren all from Houston, Texas: Zakizzah Mahasin, Samuel Ithier, Davion Ithier and Iona Ayonna.
Brother, Bill Lee Landis of Manhattan, New York.
Sister, Dorie Ann Svokos of Long Island, New York.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Anastasia Ithier in January 2023.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, November 30th, 2023 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Mizpah Shrine Center, 1015 Memorial Way, Fort Wayne. Masonic services will be held at 6:30 PM followed by Legion of Honor services.
A gathering will also be held Friday, December 1, 2023 at the chapel at the V.A. Hospital in Marion at 10:00AM followed by a short funeral service at 10:30 AM.
Burial with military honors will take place at 11:00 AM at Marion National Cemetery.
