Wayne Johnson Obituary

Born December 11, 1944, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Myrl and Thelma (Snyder) Johnson. Spending his early life in Spring Run, he graduated from Fannett-Metal High School in 1964. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Wayne was a heavy equipment operator for New Enterprise Stone & Lime Quarries in Orbisonia and Dry Run for 42 years until retiring in 2012.
Mr. Johnson was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 232, Dry Run. He enjoyed hunting and fishing along with cutting wood. Above all, he treasured his grandsons.
Surviving with his wife, Bonnie, is a son, Scott E. Johnson of Blairs Mills and his grandsons, Landon and Lane. Also surviving are 5 sisters, Kay Criswell of Shippensburg, Faye George of Spring Run, Alma Kitzmiller (Lee) of McConnellsburg, Diane Masters of Spring Run and Avis Black (Wade) of Carlisle and several generations of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Bill, Luther, Homer and Irvin and 2 sisters, Mary Long and Lucy Swanger.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, from 6 PM followed by a memorial service at 7 PM in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, PA with Pastor Marlin "Butch" Neil officiating.
