Wayne Charles Johnston, age 85, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026. He was born in Berne Township, Fairfield County, Ohio on October 12, 1940 to the late Jesse C. and Jennie G. (Jourdan) Johnston. Wayne was a 1958 graduate of Lancaster High School. He retired from Anchor Hocking Glass Corp. with over 31 of service.
Wayne enjoyed time with family and friends. He was a talented builder and wood worker. He is survived by sister-in-law Beckie Johnston of Springfield, Ohio, nieces and nephews, Carol Grasselli, Jim Greene, Don (Marianne) Greene, Brenda (Rod) Henwood, Blaine (Sandra) Miskell, Susan Johnston, Jesse Johnston, Several great-nieces and nephews, special and much-loved friends Mike and Melinda Miller and Bill Lantz.
He was proceeded in death by his son Randy Johnston, infant daughter Nicole Johnston, his parents, sisters Anna Mae Eberly and Marjorie Miskell, brothers J. Carl Johnston and Jerry Johnston, sister-in-law Helen Johnston.
Respecting Wayne’s wishes, Caring Cremation® will take place through the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME. No services will be held.
