Wayne L. Lynn, 85, of Lancaster, PA and formerly of Lansdale, PA, passed away at his residence on Thursday, February 26, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of Mary Anne (Kingree) Lynn, with whom he celebrated 56 years of marriage this past December 13th. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA he was the son of the late Sylvester J. and Mary Jane (Houser) Lynn.
Wayne served in the US Army from 1958 to 1960, attaining the rank of SP5. Following his discharge, as part of the GI Bill, he graduated from Wilkes University, with a degree in Biology, where he played football.
A strong advocate for the environment, he enjoyed a 30-year career with the Dept. of Environmental Resources (DER) and the Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP), as a Solid Waste Manager retiring in 1994.
Following his retirement, he played Santa Claus for countless children for many years at Dutch Wonderland.
He was a lifelong avid Phillies fan, played rugby for the Plymouth-Whitemarsh Rugby Club, and traveled the world with his wife after his retirement. He was a true family man, enjoying the time spent with his wife, children and their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchild.
He was of the Catholic faith and had been a member of St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife, Mary Anne, he is survived by his children: Christopher Lynn married to Glory of Springfield, PA, Megan Lynn of Quarryville, PA, and Patrick Lynn married to Christiane of Martinsville, VA; his 7 grandchildren Caleb, Ella, Cian, Sebastian, Penelope, Juliet, and Miles, his great granddaughter, Aurora, and his sister, Joyce Rutherford of Wilkes Barre.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass, on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, where his family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:20 AM, in Church, prior to Mass.
