Wayne's dedication to his nation was evident through his service as a Navy veteran, where he proudly served on the USS Sperry 697.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Edith Maki, whose memory remained a beacon of love and partnership in his heart. Together, they raised two sons, Wayne Maki Jr. and William Maki. He was a devoted father, imparting wisdom and sharing in the joys and challenges of parenthood. Wayne also leaves behind his dear sisters, Ingrid and Lucy, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond, forged in childhood experiences and sustained throughout their lives.

Wayne's zest for life was most apparent in his love for travel and adventure.
