Wayne Spencer Mills, 59, of Sacramento, California, passed away on November 27, 2025. Born on September 10, 1966, in Leigh, England, Wayne was a loving and devoted husband of 31 years to his wife, Donna, a proud father to Katheryne, Alex, Alicia, his son-in-law Albert, and a doting grandfather to Lariah.
Wayne was a hardworking and dedicated man. For the past 28 years, he served as a bus driver with the Elk Grove Unified School District, where he was known for his professionalism, knowledge, kindness, warmth, and unwavering willingness to help anyone who asked. He took great pride in his work.
He had many interests and hobbies, including paintball, rock collecting, jewelry making, and being the family mechanic and handy man. Wayne was a fan and supporter of the Sacramento Republic Football (soccer) Team from their very first season.
As much pride as Wayne took in his job and his hobbies, his true joy and greatest accomplishment was his family. His devotion and unconditional love for his wife and children shaped every part of his life. He was a man of integrity, kindness, and generosity, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Katheryne, Alex, Alicia, and her husband Albert; his granddaughter, Lariah; his sister, Tracey; and his mother, Kathleen. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and coworkers who will miss him deeply.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at W. F. Gormley & Sons in downtown Sacramento.
We find comfort in knowing that Wayne’s legacy lives on in the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, the friends he made, and the memories we will cherish forever.
