Wayne Louis Musslewhite

Born in Troup, Texas on March 17, 1939, Wayne Louis Musslewhite passed away on January 16, 2026. He is remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He is known for his charm, warm smile, ceaseless delivery of dad jokes, and unwavering dedication to serving others. Wayne spent nearly five decades of his life mentoring countless men along their journey to overcome substance abuse addiction.

His trademark was his smile, and his mission was found in helping others do the same.

Wayne's early years were lived in Troup, Fort Worth, and Mansfield before joining the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he embarked on a 48-year career in air conditioning and heating in Longview, ultimately owning and operating Wayne's Heating and Air for 42 years. He and Margaret opened and ran Books & Coffee, a used bookstore, for 15 years. With each role, he cherished the numerous relationships and opportunities to serve others.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Margaret Fanning Musslewhite; their son Clint and his wife Stephanie; and their children Lane, Marlee, Elizabeth, and Camille. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Steve Hanni; sister Fredonia 'Candy' Dickey and brother-in-law Jerry Don; nieces Tracy Dickey, Tammy Primrose and her husband Tony; nephews Todd Dickey, Brent Marris and his wife Paula, and Kenneth Marris; daughter-in-law Kay Musslewhite; and Gina Ramirez, fiancée of his late grandson Mitchell.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Thelma Musslewhite; his son Clifton Dewayne Musslewhite; and his grandson Mitchell Wayne Musslewhite. He was also preceded in death by his sister Jean Maris, brother Fred Musslewhite, sister-in-law Gwen Hanni, sister-in-law Marjorie Musselman and her husband Maynard, and great-nephew Ryan Wayne Miller.
