Van Buren--- Wayne A. Ouellette, 63, passed unexpectedly February 1, 2026. He was born in Van Buren on August 2, 1962, a son of the late Armand and Eva (Gagnon) Ouellette, and was a graduate of Van Buren Secondary School, Class of 1980.

Wayne attended former Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, and earned his Masters Plumbing license. He relocated to Portland, ME, where he had his own business, Ouellette's Plumbing, for many years. He relocated back to his beloved hometown of Van Buren and worked with Maynard's Plumbing, for a few years. Wayne loved tennis and was an instructor for several years. He also loved touring around on his bicycle all over the St. John Valley and competed in many races. An avid collector, Wayne would scour the riverbanks and old roads for antique bottles and glassware.

He is survived by four siblings, Betty Levesque and her husband Gary of Van Buren, Diane Stikeleather and her husband Don of Black Mt., NC, Linda Ouellette and her partner Heather Coulterman of Pembroke, ON, Canada, and Armand "Boy" Ouellette Jr. of St. David; his special neighbors, Lisa and Gary Poplawski; his best friend, Jim Laplante; and several nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Besides his parents, Wayne was predeceased by an infant brother, Brian.

A Graveside Service will be celebrated in Spring 2026 and announced by Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Wayne's name to a charity of one's choice. To share condolences online, please visit Wayne's tribute page at www.LajoieFuneralHome.com
