Wayne Postma Obituary
Wayne was born July 4, 1943, in Zeeland, Michigan, to Henry and Gertrude (Van Langevelde) Postma. Wayne was raised with his siblings in Holland and after high school became a chemical operator at Organic Chemical. After 19 years there, he worked at Mead-Johnson, Trendway, and Hart & Cooley before his retirement. Wayne loved outdoor activities. He was an avid hunter of deer, goose, duck, rabbit, squirrel and especially enjoyed hunting with his children and grandchildren. Wayne also enjoyed fishing and golfing. In 1963, on April 19, he married the love of his life, Marie Howard. He will be dearly missed
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie, their four daughters: Alice and Jim Bennett of West Olive, Deb and Doug Anderson of Hamilton, Bonnie Postma of Holland, Nancy and Albert Almanza of Holland; nine grandchildren: Andy & Tara Poore, Rodney & Kara Postma, Cody & Melissa Bennett, Elizabeth Sanchez, Miranda Alcala, Jamie & Justin Schuiling, Jenessa Postma, Kevin & Rachael Anderson, Carrie & Shane Van Houten; 17 great-grandchildren, brother Ken and Ruth Postma, sister Kathe Freeman, brother-in-law Roger Howard, and many nieces and nephews.
A service to honor the faith and life of Wayne A. Postma will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th Street, Holland MI 49423. Visitation will be 4-7 Pm, Wednesday, also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Holland Baptist Church. A luncheon will follow at Holland Baptist Church.
