Dear Wanda,
I am so sorry to learn of the loss of your husband, and I extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family. I didn't really know Wayne except as a great basketball player in high school. And I missed any of the cousin get togethers since high school, so we only met on rare occasions. But I do know that he was a very nice guy and wonderful Christian family man. I remember you being at my husbands funeral a few years ago and how much that meant to me. Now I wish I could have been there for you during this difficult time. However, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Jeanne Linville

Even though we went our separate ways since our graduation from high school a long time ago and our contact was infrequent at best, Wayne was one of those people who popped into my mind relatively often. He was more then a classmate and a friend, he was someone who I admired and respected very, very much. He was one of those special people who possessed a loving, caring heart, was gentle, and yet was a man's man .... genuinely a man among men. He was respected by all. He was loved by all.
For the family and especially his wife, Wanda and children.... My thoughts and prayers are with you. Parting with a loved one is among the hardest, heart-wrenching things possible and I can imagine your pain is almost all consuming. But I also know that even though you are grieving, you are also at peace knowing that Wayne is home. And the glory is that we will all be sitting at the same table visiting with him in heaven. May you continue to find God's grace and peace.

Wanda and family,
Jayne and I will be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks ahead. We will miss seeing Wayne at the Hope basketball games. He seemed to be such a quiet, kind and compassionate man, in the little time we had to spend with him. This kindness and compassion was shown both to and from his wife and the grandkids who could not wait to see and talk with grandpa at the games, even though they probably had just seen him at the many events he would go to in order to show them the love and support he had for them. Sitting at future Hope games just won't be the same, however, I just know that he will be cheering on the team from up above, shouting, "GO HOPE!"
