Wayne Shorter

Wayne, the amount of similarities between us is astounding. I truly get what you were doing and how you could tell a story of a person, or a scene, or like a black hole that explodes, etc. through music. I play piano, drums, bass, etc. many many instruments, and I hope that one day I get to experience somewhat of what you did. Just making music to tell your story. Not for money or anything. I know your out there somewhere, and I hope you are somewhere in you're music. Much love Wayne Shorter, I hope we eventually meet in another life.

Loved and appreciated his music

A genius is gone. I miss him. Him and so much change my life. One of the last giant of jazz. So sad. As I have a broadcast in Paris France, I dedicated him my last program.

Wayne Shorter! His music has been the soundtrack of my life for over 50 years. After hearing "Sweetnighter" for the first time, nothing would ever be the same for me! Raj

I'm so sad to hear of this great man's passing. As a tenor player in a family of tenor players our prevailing opinion is that he's the only guy we thought should ever be allowed to play a soprano. Wayne Shorter is THE MASTER. May he rest in peace and our thoughts are with his family. We thank him for his wonderful contributions to America's original music. Jen in Akron
