Wayne L Sitlinger, age 82, of Gratz, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.
He was born on Tuesday, January 7, 1941, in Lykens Twp., a son of the late Emory Sitlinger and the late Henrietta (Wise) Sitlinger.
Wayne served in the US Marine Corps.
He worked at TRW and Chromalloy, Harrisburg, prior to his retirement.
He was a life member of VFW Post 2385, Gratz and the Gratz Fire Company.
Wayne enjoyed sprint car racing and football.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by a son, Kevin Talhelm Sitlinger, three brothers, Robert Sitlinger, Russell Sitlinger, and Carl Sitlinger, and five sisters, Tillie Bobroski, Arlene Sitlinger, Bonnie Bowman, Evelyn Shaffner and Phyllis Sitlinger.
He is survived by his wife Barbara I (Miller) Sitlinger, to whom he was married for 51 years.
He is also survived by a step son, Jeffrey Morgan of Gratz; a brother, Alvin Sitlinger of Valley View; a sister, Margaret Reitz of Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Inc, Valley View, on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 11:00 am, with Vicki Shaffner officiating. The family requests that you wear your favorite Steelers or racing shirt.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial with Military Honors will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Valley View.
Memorial contributions can be made to Gratz Fire Company, Gratz PA 17030.
