Surviving are his children: Julie (Chris) Schwerer of Blandinsville, Gene (Sue) Thorman, Jeff Thorman, Cathy (Bruce) Ackers and Jamie (Mick) Cumbie all of Macomb; grandchildren: Leigh Thorman of Macomb, Lyndi (Jael) Laborn of Cibolo, TX, Jared (Ashley Leavitt) Schwerer of Blandinsville, Kimberly (Michael) Anderson of Japan, Caleb (Bri) Ackers of Peoria, IL, Cory (Brooklin) Thorman of Macomb, Jennifer Schwerer of Blandinsville, Jordan Thorman (Jayna Trueblood) of Blandinsville, IL, and Grace Ackers (Owen Reid) of Macomb; great grandchildren Zander & Zayne Laborn, Kane & Klay Thorman, and Isabella Ackers; brothers Lloyd & Marvin Thorman and sisters Betty Nelson & Wilma Wilson. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Henry, Raymond & Kenneth Thorman and one sister Carol Waller.

Wayne was a graduate of Bardolph High School. Days after Helen graduated high school she and Wayne were married at Pennington Point Methodist Chapel. They were married for 67 years. Together they owned Thorman Dairy Farm until they both retired in 2004. Early in life Wayne enjoyed bowling, basketball, softball, fishing, and golfing with his brothers in law. He was especially proud of the all-Thorman softball team that played in the Good Hope League with his brothers, sons, and nephews. Later in life Wayne & Helen greatly enjoyed staying active by following all the children's and grandchildren's activities and events. Wayne was a member of Scotland Trinity Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed following the St. Louis Cardinals, gardening, adopting farm cats and was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need.
