Wayne Roy Walworth Jr., 82, went home to be with the Lord on June 19, 2025. A funeral service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, 214 S. Main St., Perry, MI 48872. Rev. Dr. John Walworth will officiate. Interment will take place at Fremont Cemetery, Bancroft. The family will receive friends from 4-7:00 PM on Sunday, June 22, 2025 as well as one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Born on September 2, 1942 to Wayne Sr. and Martha Walworth, in Port Huron, MI, he was the eldest son in a family of 14 children and grew up in and around Durand, MI. A 1961 graduate of Durand High School, Wayne served four years in the U.S. Navy before marrying his sweetheart, Brenda, on July 30, 1966.
He retired from Great Lakes Hybrids in 2009 and spent his later years enjoying time with his children and grandchildren, deer hunting, fishing, searching for agates on the shores of Lake Superior, and participating in community life at Perry Congregational Church.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Brenda, and nine siblings. He is survived by his children: Jeremy Walworth (Tulsa, OK), Justin (Rhianna) Walworth (Laingsburg, MI), and Sarah (Patrick) Atwell (Middletown, MD); grandchildren: Hudson, Lola, Calvin, Augustine, Beckett, Grey, Evelyn, Olympia, Dean, and Theodore; and siblings: Coilah Hicks, John (Lois) Walworth, Francis Figel, and Elmer (Kim) Walworth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Perry Congregational Church, 130 E. 2nd St., Perry, MI 48872.
