Wayne E. "Junior" "Woody" Wood Jr, age 71, of Laurelville, Ohio, passed away November 3, 2025, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

Wayne was born October 3, 1954, in Circleville, Ohio to Wayne E. Sr. and Elma Wood-Chambers. Wayne loved watching old TV shows such as westerns and comedies. He also enjoyed old music and watching shows about bigfoot and extraterrestrials. Wayne was a cat whisper, a great cook, and had a very dry sense of humor. He also had a love of NBA basketball and some baseball.

Surviving are his loving wife of 40 years, Charlene Wood; siblings, Valerie Dunetz, Narcie Stahr, and Vincile Mullins; and numerous feline friends.

Wayne was preceded in death by parents, Wayne Sr. and Elma Wood-Chambers; mother-in-law, Ruth Smith; father-in-law, Lawrence Smith; and siblings, Karen Hunter, Bonnie Rickets, and Maxine Bauman.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Gibisonville United Methodist Church located at 16228 St Rt 678 in Rockbridge, Ohio with Rev. John Williams officiating. Burial followed at Green Summit Cemetery in Adelphi, Ohio.

Calling hours were observed, prior to the service on Friday, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Laurel Township Recreational Center with the mailing address of 16190 St. Rt. 678, Rockbridge, Ohio 43149.

Arrangements are by the Warren-Brown Funeral Home of Nelsonville, Ohio.
