It is with great sadness that the Wright family announces the death of Wayne Alan Wright. He went home to be with our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Center in Houston, Texas. The son of Elvin Doyle Wright and Catherine Wright Riggle, Wayne was born September 15, 1960 in Richmond, Texas. He attended school in Needville, Texas and subsequently served in the United States Marine Corps. After serving in the military, Wayne was an owner/operator of construction equipment as well as a contract supervisor in the construction of highway and road infrastructure.
Love of God and family were priorities in Wayne's life. He spent many hours volunteering at church and spreading God's Word. He always invited family and friends for church service, Christmas programs, and Easter pageants. All of his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews have known the "Wayne Toss" and "Wayne Claw". Laughter and squeals abounded when Wayne was around, and the room was always a little quieter when he exited.
He was a beloved husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. Wayne is survived by his devoted wife, Rebecca Hallam Wright, son Nathan Wright and wife Morgan, granddaughters Madeline and Caroline of Kyle, Texas; son Carlos Wright and wife Amber of Kansas, Oklahoma and grandchildren Camden, Toby and Julie Jenks; daughter Cassidy Monroe and husband Taylor; son Dallan Haworth; Deanna Greer and husband Jason and grandchildren Tyler, Trevor, Katelyn, and Kara Ann of Willis, Texas; son Daniel Davis and wife Ally of Cleveland, Texas, grandchildren Dominique, Haleigh, Alexandra Davis, Micheala, Lucas, Jenna, and great grandchildren Karter, Elijah, and Kennedi. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Austin Jenks. He will always be remembered by his five siblings: Walter, John, Robert, Patsy, and Kathleen. Wayne also has a wealth of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will sorely miss him, but cherish his memory.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Memorial on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 6:00 PM, held at Abundant Life Christian Center, 601 Delany Road, La Marque, Texas 77568.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Casa Angelina at whatmattersmm.org

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Wayne, whom we love dearly. He was a lot of fun and had a contagious smile! He loved the Lord and spoke to others about HIM. We cherish the memories of him at family reunions and at our grandparents´ house in East Texas. We send our deepest and heartfelt sympathy to all the family and pray for comfort. We love you, Wayne, and will always remember you!
