Wendell Ray Austin

Wendell Ray Austin, 57, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in Keithville, Louisiana. He was born on June 11, 1968, in DeRidder, Louisiana to Bonnie and Johnny Austin.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr. in Shreveport, Louisiana. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Rose-Neath Many Chapel in Many, Louisiana. Chaplain Cindy Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Hopewell Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana.

Wendell graduated from Huntington High School. He worked for Analogical Logging of Oklahoma for five years and for Permatox in Shreveport for the past 14 years. He married the love of his life, Christina Hasty, on March 29, 2025.

Wendell was an outdoorsman who loved camping, canoeing, fishing, and deer hunting. He also enjoyed playing pool, riding motorcycles, and mud riding with his four-wheeler and side-by-side. He was known as a quiet, simple, old-fashioned country man who cherished time spent with family and friends.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Christina; daughter, Kristin Machowski; granddaughter, Peyton Machowski; son, Micah Wages; sister, Gaila Clark; brothers, John, Ricky, and Greg Clark; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Honoring Wendell as pallbearers will be Michael Ruybal, Scott Roth, Kevin Pool, Greg Clark, Ricky Clark, and Micah Wages. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be John Clark.
