Wendy Lois Barkiewicz, of Statesville, NC formerly of
Clifton, NJ passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023. She was born August 20, 1966, in Glenridge, NJ, daughter of the late Anthony John "AJ" Barkiewicz.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Ingrid Barkiewicz; brothers, Anthony Thomas Barkiewicz and William John Barkiewicz; grandparents, Michalina and John Barkiewicz and Ingrid and Warren Hansen; and Lois Ann Hansen.
Raised in
Clifton, NJ, before she moved to Statesville, NC with her partner, Michael Torre, in 2005. She enjoyed more than 20 years of endless conversation and laughter with Michael. In her younger years, she found comfort in playing pool, and she was very good at it. During hockey season, she could be found watching the game and rooting for the NY Rangers, a family tradition. She enjoyed listening to music, especially Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Elton John, Tom Petty and any oldies or Motown. Dancing to "Run Around Sue" will always be one of her daughters most cherished memories.
Most important to her was her family and she will forever be remembered as a selfless, loving, and devoted partner, mother, aunt, and friend. Life was truly filled with more laughter and fun for anyone who knew her. Her compassion for all animals, sense of humor, quick wit, and ability to find the irony in any situation have left a lasting impression on all those who knew her.
She leaves a lasting legacy to be cherished by her survivors, daughter, Jamie Lee Barkiewicz of
Clifton, NJ; son, Scott Austin Clark and wife, Lauren of Canton, GA; stepdaughter, Amanda Marie Holley of Rehoboth Beach, DE; fiancé, Michael Joseph Torre of Statesville, NC; mother-in-law, Maryann Torre of Statesville, NC; sister-in-law, Sharon Barkiewicz of

Mooresville, NC, Amanda Elizabeth Stamey of

Rockaway, NJ; friend of more than 40 years, Michele Van Riper of Palmyra, VA and last, but by no means least, her pup, Crowley and grandpuppies, Jinx, Marty and Marshall.
It brings her family great solace knowing she was welcomed into heaven by all of her family and friends that have passed before her.
