Wendy Mary BIGMORE

January 17th, 1960 ~ December 29th, 2011

It is with a deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Wendy after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

Pre-deceased by her brother-in-law, Rick Bigmore, her father-in-law Alfred Bigmore, and nephew Marshal MacDonald . She is survived by her loving husband Doug; her beloved daughter Krystal Hawksworth; parents Aksel and Margit Akselsen; sisters; Connie (Tim) Harrison, Debbie (Steve) Harvey, Lori (Brad) Riach, Lena (Rob) McDermot; brother: Glen Akselsen; nieces and nephews: Brianna and Josh Harvey; Courtney, Hanna and Caleb Riach; Meghan and Liam McDermot; uncle Arne (Jara) Hansen; mother-in-law Clara Bigmore; sisters-in-law: Arlene MacDonald (Ernie), Elaine (Leroy) MacDonald, Cheryl Bigmore (Gary Shields), and Starr Bigmore as well as many other extended family members.

Wendy was a busy, hardworking person who was an employee of Coulson Forest Products for 22 years. Although she loved her job and the extended family she worked with, she was a homebody at heart. She also loved her road trips with Doug and spending time with the light of her life, Krystal.

The family would like to thank Wayne Coulson and Susan Merivirta whose continuous support as well as everyone at Coulson Forest Products and Chances Rim Rock for all that you have meant to Wendy. To Dr. Ferguson and all the nursing staff, (Jennifer) thank you for your comfort and great care of Wendy; you were phenomenal.

A Celebration of her life will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from Lighthouse Apostolic Church, 4890 Locke Rd, Port Alberni. Cremation has taken place.
