Wendy Davis Obituary

Wendy Paige Davis, 60, of Queens, New York, passed away on December 8, 2025.

Wendy was born on October 18, 1965 in Durham, North Carolina to Dewey and Harriett (Woods) Davis.

After graduating from Northern High School in 1984, Wendy obtained her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1988, majoring in journalism and advertising. She was also on the women's fencing and softball teams.

Following college, Wendy moved to New York City where she worked for an advertising agency. Later, she worked as a sales representative for a golf apparel company. This job gave her the opportunity to travel the states of New York and Florida. Wendy then went on to work at various upscale restaurants in New York City and even received her international bartending license. While doing this, she had side jobs doing stand-up comedy and acting roles. Wendy appeared in various television shows including "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel", "Blindspot", "Rescue Me", "The Normal Heart", and "New Amsterdam". For the past 18 years, Wendy worked at the JFK airport as a U. S. Customs and Border Protection officer - a job she very much enjoyed.

In her minimal spare time, Wendy could be found working out in the gym, attending her boxing classes, applying for acting and comedy bits and spending time with her furry child, Roxie. Wendy lived to have fun, enjoying the little things in life and embracing each new adventure with a free spirit and clear focus.

Wendy is survived by her parents: Harriett and Dewey Davis; sister, Kim (Gary) Hunter; nephew, Josh Hunter; uncle, Harry (Patricia) Woods and her cousin, Bridgette Fagala. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.

At this time, cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. More details will be released when the service information has been finalized.

Wendy and I went to school together from elementary through UNC. She was a light that will never burn out. At one of my elementary birthday parties, Dad was (trying to, helping) her skate for the 1st time. I could hear both of them laughing from the other side of the rink. Their laugh was contagious, and hilarious. When she and her girlfriend were in Buffalo, we met up and shared great memories. Wendy will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Dewey, Harriet, Kim, Jamie and her friends.
