Wendy Peters, age 63, of Springdale, Ohio, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025. She was born on October 24, 1961, in Bennington, Vermont, to Raymond and Charlotte Baker (nee Sherman).
Wendy was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Baker, Sr.; her mother, Charlotte Baker; her sister, Ginger Harrington; and her brothers, Wayne Baker and Raymond Baker, Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, John Peters; her son, Dustin Thurston; her daughter, Amber (Jeffrey) Wessel; her cherished granddaughter, Alexis Taylor; grandson Logan Frost and granddaughter Natalie Frost; and Wendy's siblings, James (Linda) Baker, Sharon Briggs, Lynn Hoard, Patti Hoskins, Michael Baker, Bonnie Jones, and Jewel Baker. Wendy will also be missed by a large extended family and many friends.
A dedicated animal lover, Wendy is also remembered for her beloved pets who have passed, including her dogs Ren, Courage, Smokey, and her cat Smeagol.
Wendy was known for her deep love of family and friends, always placing their needs above her own. She was the rock of her family, flourishing in her role as wife, mother, and grandmother. Her home was welcoming, offering refuge to any animal in need. An avid fan of film, particularly horror and sci-fi, Wendy embraced the season of Halloween with enthusiasm. She had a passion for classic rock and pop music, enjoyed dancing, and was also an enthusiastic reader.
Her love for life extended to exciting activities such as visiting theme parks and riding roller coasters, as well as spending time at the beach, soaking up the sun, and enjoying her pool. Wendy had a flair for fashion, always embracing various hairstyles and colors, and she had a remarkable ability to light up any room with her humor and authenticity.
In loving memory of Wendy, contributions may be made to Mercy Fairfield Hospital and Hospice of Cincinnati. A funeral ceremony will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, October 10, 2025, with visitation from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - West Side Chapel, located at 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211.
