Wendy Solloway Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Homes Inc - Sherburne on Jan. 17, 2026.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Wendy Jean Solloway, who was born on September 13, 1976, in Norwich, New York. Wendy possessed a generous
spirit and touched the hearts of countless people throughout her life. She was truly loved by everyone who crossed her path and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Wendy was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her loving parents, Russell and Shelly Solloway; her siblings, Claudia (Beau) Babcock, Michael Solloway, and Mikayla (Rebecca) Solloway; and her cherished nieces and nephew, Brooklyn, Kadyn, and Tatum Babcock, and Ryan and Avery Solloway. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins who held her close in their hearts.
Wendy was deeply committed to education and service. She earned her Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts from SUNY Morrisville in 1998, continued her studies at Hartwick College and SUNY Oneonta, where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Pre-Law, Psychology, and Political Science, and went on to receive her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Argosy University in California, with a concentration in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). True to her compassionate nature, Wendy devoted herself to helping others and generously provided free counseling to many people in need, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.
Wendy embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She loved arts and crafts, volleyball, softball, and field hockey, and found peace in the outdoors through hiking, fishing, and camping. She especially enjoyed karaoke, where her laughter and spirit shined, and treasured every moment spent with family and friends. Wendy also had a deep and abiding faith. She cherished attending youth group and found strength, purpose, and community through her faith, which guided her life and her service to others. Wendy Jean Solloway will be remembered for her kindness, empathy, and unwavering dedication to others. She will be forever in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on Saturday. May 30, 2026 at the Sherburne United Church of Christ, 1 S. Main St., Sherburne, NY 13460.
