Rest in peace "Omaha". We had some farout times at NWMSU as roomies in 222. You know, the room where we painted the Darkside of the Moon on the wall. We had a groovy circle of friends in the Delta Zig Zag´s including me, you, Kleiner, Luke, Sam, Ronnie, Gundy, Bennet, Cheryl and others. Lots of concerts, Pure Prarie League, Qucksilver Messenger , and the nite we were coming back from the Leonard Skynard concert and came upon the apartment fire. We got out and quickly became firemen that night. Very cool memory with you. Lots of trips in Cheryl´s Bug to "The Place" for beers, girls, laughter and friends. Then stopping at the "Hitching Post" for breakfast on the way back.. it was very cool to grow up with you, so sorry to come upon your Obit while surfing for you online. Oh jeez, the music we enjoyed, you favoring JM and the Doors and me the Allman Brothers. It was a very cool time. I saw the Serenity prayer on the leaflet. It appears you may have been a "Rider in the Storm" at times. Sorry I was not there to catch you if you fell. Anyway, great memories from the 70´s I won´t forget. I know you´re making friends up there and laughing a lot. Save me a spot....

I met Wes, (and Steve and Terry) around 1980 at a UP Railroad project in Hinkle, Or. Not sure what made me think of him tonight- a lot of unusual thoughts during this time stuck at home. I read what others have said about Wes- and the comments are just how I remember him...life of the party, very fun guy. Had a few cocktails with all 3 of thr brothers during those Hinkle days. Wes was indeed a great guy. Sorry to hear of his "taking the A train".

Well Wes, It's been 7 years since you took the "A Train" (my Dad's phrase) and headed out. We will miss your lively and enlivening presence at our summer gatherings. You may have heard about Covid-19. Because of that plague (and a few others), we're meeting separately this year for the BKT summer reunion. We'll be playing golf at separate locations this year and sharing recipes rather than our customary family feed. I hope the fishing and hunting are good where you are. Hopefully the golf will be too. wishing you well, cousin TED

You are greatly missed. I know you always helped care for the folks and siblings. And you continue to watch over your family. Love you always.

Many years ago, Wes decided that his dad needed a puppy. So he concealed a puppy under his shirt close to his heart. Wes was the good-hearted puppy under the shirt of our family. He was fun, funny, tender with dogs and children, attentive to fish and game. Wes often brought out the best in his family and friends. Who's going to fill his big fun-loving shoes?

Having known Wes and interacted with the 'happy warrior' for 45 years; was indeed a privilege many shared. Though I am far away, the sorrow in my heart brings me back home.
Wes will always be part of us all and can only hope and pray all the Beckwith's sorrow will ease over time and his memory will always conjure up smiles and warmth.
He wouldn't want it any other way.

Wes was a terrific guy, and John and I are both so grateful for the jobs he provided for John. I knew Wes had been sick for a long time but didn't realize how dire it had become. I am so very sorry. God Bless the memories, and God Bless your famiy. He will be sorely missed by many.

Wes was a good man. He lived by what I call a cowboy code of honor. Steve-you know what I mean. A rare breed. We need more people like him. Prayers for you Wes. My heart goes out to you Steve and Terrel.

He was a good man, husband, father and my best friend. He loved to hunt and fish. He was a man to ride the river with. And whereas he'll be missed, he'll live on in all our memories.
