Wesley Gordon Fender, 79, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born Jan. 14, 1942, in Taylorsville, Ohio, the son of the late Carey Newton and Bertha "Boots" Robinson Fender.
Wesley was a graduate of the Whiteoak High School class of 1959 and had a long, successful career in real estate and farming, which was his true passion. You could always find him wearing a John Deere hat.
Surviving are his loving wife, Toy Vance Fender; four children, Jeff (Maribeth) Fender, Julie (Ken) Fender, Jenny (William) Hilterbran and Joey Fender; and seven grandchildren, Savannah (Levi) Kelly, and Jack, Grace, Cayse, Nate, Sam and Chloe. Also surviving are his stepchildren, Pam (Chip) Banks, Sarah (Joe) Gingrich, John (Crystal) Etienne, Molly (Josh) Warnock and Scott Ball; nine stepgrandchildren, Marissa, Miranda, Madison, Morgan, Jackson, Devin, Allie, Macy and Mason; his brother, Stanley (Doris) Fender; and numerous family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Wesley was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Magee Fender.
Funeral services will be held at Good News Gathering, 6250 U.S. Route 62, Hillsboro, Tuesday, March 30 at 1o a.m. with Pastors Chris Fannin and Jeff Lyle officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery, Taylorsville.
Friends will be received at Good News Gathering on Monday, March 29 from 5-8 p.m.
