Wesley Katsumi Murakami, 73, of Waimea, Hawai'i, passed away peacefully at home on November 8, 2025, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's dementia. He was lovingly cared for by his hospice team and his devoted wife, Debbie Murakami, who served as his full-time caregiver.

Wesley was a proud graduate of Honoka'a High School and later attended culinary school, where he discovered his passion for cooking. He began his career as a pastry chef at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and worked tirelessly toward his dream of owning a business. His dedication and hard work led him to become the General Manager of Kona Fish Company, where he eventually retired.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Murakami; children Shyla (Mark) Murakami-Simao of Sparta, WI; Kemp Murakami of Waimea; Tansy (Kanalu) Coelho of Waimea; and former wife Cynthia Kagan. Wesley was also a proud hanai father to Ryan (Alyssa) and Benjamin. His grandchildren include Zakary, McKayla, Teah, Skylah, Chrys, Kawainapuahele, Kaliana, Mikela, Micah, Michelle, and Isaiah, as well as two great-grandchildren, Loa'a and Hokualii. Wesley loved all his children and grandchildren unconditionally.

He is also survived by his father, Kiyoshi Murakami of Honoka'a; sister Wendy (Beau); and niece Mika Schneider of Monson, MA. He was predeceased by his mother, Janet Murakami.

Wesley will be remembered by his many cousins, uncles, and extended family, as well as the hospice caregivers who supported him. His children brought him joy through their visits and rides, creating cherished memories in his final days.
