My deepest condolences to Sue and the Semple family. Wes visited my late husband, Larry, after his pancreatic cancer surgery and he continued to stay in touch. Wes was a kind, caring man. God rest his soul.

I first met Mr. Semple In the 80s when I was a struggling student at LaRoche. Working full time, going to school full time and exhausted. Looking for a good elective. Everyone recommended Wes´s Class. Folks fought to get into his class. He was Not easy ! But an amazing teacher who showed us the world and its beauty and culture. We all adored him. He was passionate about the topic!
Perhaps my favorite professor at LaRoche.
We never knew how he would show up! Sometimes in a kilt! Or showing off his baby son in a kilt. Or watching his slides and hearing his stories. I learned so much! Enjoyed every minute.
Ran into him a few years ago at Oglebay and got to thank him.
He touched many lives including mine. Just a tremendous person ! Excellent teacher and he has left his mark. Dear Wes...Gods speed !

I offer my sincere condolences to Wes Semple´s family and friends. At Shaler Higg School, I taught with Wes and was proud to call him my colleague and friend.
After my own personal illness, Wes began sending me greeting cards. For more than 10 years, Wes never missed one holiday or one of my birthdays, and he always signed the cards with a mention of his dear wife, Sue.
Wes Semple was a great teacher and a fine man. He is missed.
