Wesley Earl Wheale, 93, died at The Gables Assisted Living at 3455 San Pablo Road S, Jacksonville, FL 32224 on December 11, 2024.
Wesley worked as a Sprinkler Fitter/Welder as a proud member of the National Automatic Sprinkler Fitters Union. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War on the USS Arequipa and was honorably discharged from service in June 1952 after serving 4 years. He was recently honored for being a 50-year member of the Freemasons.
Wesley was predeceased by his wife Esther Wheale (Jacksonville, FL) and two brothers and a sister: Russel Wheale (Spokane, WA), Earnest Wheale (New Castle, PA), and Lillian Moran (Hanford, CA). Wesley is survived by his sister Linda Betins of Rehoboth Beach, DE and several nieces and nephews who live in various US cities. The family would like to thank Haven Hospice for the compassionate care that they provided during the last months of Wesley's life.
Wesley's remains will be transported to New Castle, PA for burial at Graceland Cemetery. A virtual celebration of life will be held in March 2025 to celebrate both Wesley and his wife Esther. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
