Wesley Lee Williams was born on September 1, 1955, in Tallulah, Louisiana, to Mary Lucy Kline Williams and the late Reverend Roosevelt Williams, Sr. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and friend to many.
Wesley was baptized at Mt. Cellar Baptist Church in Tallulah, Louisiana, under the leadership of the late Reverend A. Israel.
As a young adult, Wesley proudly joined the United States Army, where he served his country with dedication and honor. Following his military service, he later relocated to Abbeville, Louisiana, where he began his lifelong career as a truck driver. Wesley loved life on the open road and continued driving trucks faithfully until his illness prevented him from working.
Beyond his work, Wesley was known for his love of singing, cooking, and shing-he found joy and peace in these simple pleasures that reflected his warm and giving spirit. He also enjoyed laughing and talking with friends and family, bringing joy and laughter wherever he went.
Wesley departed this life on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at his home in Abbeville, Louisiana.
He is preceded in death by his father, Reverend Roosevelt Williams, Sr.; brother, Roosevelt Williams, Jr.; son, Charles Williams; and daughter, Krystal Pearl.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted mother, Mary Lucy Kline Williams; loving children, Sherrie (Gregory) Colvin, Nicole Williams, Keysha Lasalle, Wesley Laviolette, Shawan Laviolette, Elvin Francis, Ashley Francis, Destiny Broussard, Chase Callahan, Joshua Broussard, Tyson Broussard, Trey Broussard, Sheena (Steven) Broussard, and Donta (Alyssia) Nickerson; precious grandchildren who will continue to carry his legacy forward; and siblings, Clara ( omas) Durr, Tinnie B. Hardy, Sylvia Coleman, Lesia Lacey, Shelia Hodges, Zelda (Robert) Johnson, Reverend Melvin (Delores) Williams, and Donald Ray Williams.
He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Wesley will be remembered for his love for family, his devotion as a grandfather, his passion for singing and shing, his joyful spirit, and the laughter he shared with everyone around him.
"Well done, thou good and faithful servant..." Matthew 25:21
