Whitaker Griffin Jr.

Whitaker Griffin, Jr, 74, of S Bethlehem, passed away on December 5, 2025 at home with his wife by his side. He was the husband of Mary Lou (Giggey) Griffin. They would have been married for 28 years on December 31st. Whitaker was a truck driver until retiring. Born in Phoenixville, PA, he was the son of the late Whitaker Griffin, Sr. and Louise Eubanks Griffin .

He truly enjoyed spending every spare moment taking his grandchildren out on adventures and taking them driving in his truck. He never met a stranger, he was everyone's friend.

He is survived by his wife Mary Lou, Daughter Onica Phillips of Allentown, Grandchildren: Kimora and Joshua James, Sisters Mary Ann (Herb) Wolfe of Rochester, NY, Jennifer (George) Nesmith of Philadelphia, Andrea Johnson of Maryland, Denise Birckhead of Pottstown, Sharon (Eric) Allen of Portland, OR, Debbie (Tom) Conroy of Midlothian, VA, Cindy Homick Cicero of Bethlehem, Kim (Michael) Popoff of Northampton, Brother: Michael Homick, Jr. of Bethlehem and very special Foster Mother: Barbara Homick of Bethlehem. He also leaves an Aunt Kathy Kelly of Reading,PA and sister-in-law Hope (Roy) French of South China, Maine and his Best Friend of 60+ years; Mookie Stanton of Bethlehem. Last, but not least, a whole host of Nieces and Nephews, grand nieces and nephews and so many other special children throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by a sister Catherine Waller and Foster Dad: Michael Homick, Sr.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 2 P.M. in the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home 1601 W. Hamilton Street Allentown. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers (he hated flowers) please make donations in his honor to Serenity Hospice or Make A Wish Foundation.
