Whitney Lashay Zimmerman, 23 of Cookeville, Tennessee ascended to heaven on Monday, December 5, 2022.
Whitney was born Wednesday, June 2, 1999, in Sparta, Tennessee, and she was the daughter of Robert Taylor Zimmerman and Malinda Ann (Parks) Zimmerman.
Whitney was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. Our precious Whitney enjoyed music, dancing, singing, and shopping. She had a passion for childcare, especially young children. She loved their Cockerspaniel, Stella, and would take her on car rides, and to the park. She loved all things sunflowers, from her favorite blanket to decorating every square inch of her apartment and car with the beautiful yellow flower. Sunflowers symbolize loyalty and adoration, a beautiful testament to what she loved most - spending time with her family and friends. Whitney was loved by all that knew her and she will be greatly missed.
Whitney is survived by, Parents, Robert and Malinda Zimmerman; 3 Siblings, Natalie Zimmerman, Matthew Zimmerman, and Kyle Dodson; Biological Father, Billy Gene Dodson; Maternal Grandparents, Linda "Granny" and Doug Thompson, Michael and Michelle Parks, and Wilburn Luna; Paternal Grandparents, Brenda Zimmerman, and Gary and Lois Burchett; Paternal Great-Grandmother, Georgia Gibson; Best Friend, Megan Moore; A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.
Whitney was preceded in death by, Paternal Grandfather, Timothy Zimmerman; Paternal Grandmother, Elizabeth Shelby.
Funeral Service for Whitney Lashay Zimmerman will be held Friday, December 9, 2022 at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Friday, December 9, 2022, from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.
